Responsible Play
Raffles should be fun and entertaining, never a source of harm. At Canada Prize Hub, we're committed to promoting responsible play and providing support resources for our participants.
1. Our Commitment
Canada Prize Hub supports responsible play and follows all conditions set out in our provincial raffle licences. Ticket sales are restricted to individuals who are 18 years of age or older and physically located in jurisdictions where our licences permit participation.
We are committed to maintaining the integrity of our raffles while ensuring that participation remains a positive experience for all players.
2. Play Smart Tips
- Set a budget: Decide how much you can afford to spend on raffle tickets and stick to that limit.
- Never chase losses: Raffles are games of chance. Never view them as a way to make money or recover previous spending.
- Keep it social: Enjoy raffles as occasional entertainment, not as a response to stress, problems, or financial difficulties.
- Understand the odds: Remember that winning is never guaranteed, regardless of how many tickets you purchase.
- Take breaks: If you find yourself thinking about raffles constantly, take a step back and reassess.
3. Signs of a Problem
Gambling can become problematic when it starts to negatively impact your life. Warning signs include:
- Spending more money on tickets than you can afford to lose.
- Feeling anxious, guilty, or stressed about your raffle participation.
- Hiding your ticket purchases from friends or family members.
- Borrowing money or using credit to buy tickets.
- Neglecting work, relationships, or other responsibilities due to gambling.
- Feeling the need to play more frequently or spend more to get the same excitement.
4. Getting Help
If gambling is causing problems for you or someone you know, support is available. Canadian resources include:
- ConnexOntario: 1-866-531-2600 (Ontario)
- Problem Gambling Support Services: Available in all provinces
- Gamblers Anonymous: Local meetings across Canada
- Online support: Visit responsiblegambling.org for resources
Many provinces also offer free, confidential counselling services for problem gambling. Check your provincial health services website for local resources.
5. Self-Exclusion
If you feel you need to take a break from raffle participation, you can request to be removed from our marketing lists or excluded from creating accounts or purchasing tickets. Contact our support team using the information on the About page to discuss self-exclusion options.
We take self-exclusion requests seriously and will work with you to implement appropriate restrictions in accordance with our policies and regulatory requirements.
6. Age Verification
All participants must be 18 years of age or older. We use age verification systems and may request identification to confirm eligibility. Providing false information about your age is a violation of our terms and may result in account closure and forfeiture of any prizes.
